Welcome to HSM 2027

Welcome to the 19th International Conference on High Speed Machining (HSM 2027), which will take place on 7–8 April 2027 in Donostia–San Sebastián, Spain.

It is a great pleasure and an honour for us to host this new edition of the HSM Conference on behalf of IDEKO and Tekniker, continuing a tradition that, for more than two decades, has brought together an international community of researchers, engineers and industrial experts passionate about machining and manufacturing technologies.

What makes HSM special is not only the quality of its scientific contributions, but also its unique ability to connect people. Over the years, this conference has become a place where new ideas emerge, challenging discussions take place, and long-lasting collaborations are born. Many of us attend HSM not only to present our latest results, but also to meet colleagues, exchange experiences and discuss the future of our field.

Today, manufacturing is evolving at an unprecedented pace. The pursuit of higher productivity, better quality and greater sustainability is driving innovation in machining processes, machine tools, digital manufacturing, artificial intelligence, process monitoring, hybrid manufacturing and advanced materials. At the same time, industry is demanding ever more reliable, efficient and intelligent production systems.

HSM 2027 aims to provide a forum where these challenges and opportunities can be openly discussed. We invite contributions covering the full spectrum of high-speed and high-performance machining, from fundamental research to industrial implementation, including cutting processes, machine tool technologies, virtual machining, digital twins, sustainable manufacturing, process monitoring, precision engineering, hybrid processes and intelligent manufacturing systems.

This conference is the result of a long-standing collaboration among IDEKO, Tekniker, PTW, RCMT, LEM3 and Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, institutions that have jointly contributed to the development and international success of the HSM series. We are proud to continue this tradition and to welcome the global manufacturing community to Donostia–San Sebastián.
